I had an egg allergy that was so bad, I couldn't even touch an eggshell without passing out. Now, 40 years later and in a different state, I can have egg if it's cooked into food. Having eggs as a meal course, I don't do. You also can't have the flu shots (not even the nasal ones) because they are cultivated in eggs. Not the pneumonia shot either. As your pharmacist what's cultivated in egg before you get the shot. Don't know what happened to change in my body, but it's nice to have cake and cookies without dying, almost. In the health food section of your stores, there should be an egg-free substitute to use in cooking. It's a powder that you mix with water then add it to the recipe. I hope you've found it. Much good luck!!

Be aware that eggs turn up in a lot of baked goods. When I had to eliminate gluten I was surprised at how many of the breads have egg. Also be aware that many candies have egg as well. You also need to ask if a vaccine is grown in an egg culture. The flu shot often is and I didn't realize it. I had a really wicked reaction.

There is also a product called Egg Replacer that is an egg substitute for baking.

Ice Cream contains Egg. Gelato does not.

Eggs, thankfully are one of the few foods that I am NOT allergic to. But prior to discovering all my food allergies I loved to cook and bake, so I can give some tips on substitutions. You can replace eggs in baked goods with chia seeds, flaxseeds or even mashed bananas. I always like a combination of the chia and flax.

Make sure to carefully check all labels for "may contain" or "processed in a facility" with egg products.
