Most restaurants don’t have a dedicated section for people with food allergies. Fryers rarely do. For example, Five Guys only fries their fries in their fryers. They use peanut oil though, which makes them out for me. They have a separate part of their grill so it won’t get contaminated by gluten, however I have never thought to ask them about their utensils being shared. They do start with washed ones, and they put their burgers in a tin with a lettuce wrap. Culver’s gluten free buns are left unopened until you open them. They both mark the orders with a food allergy that appears in red letters. Firehouse subs puts a sticker on their subs (Udi’s) to avoid confusion. But there is always a risk of a mix up.

I also have AGS. I thought about making a laminated picture graph that I take everywhere with me. 🚫🐮🚫🐖🚫🧀🚫🧈🚫🥛. Something along this line.
We eat a lot of Mexican and Chinese food! Realizing they use beef tallow or lard in refried beans was a surprise! One of our regular places had them listed on their vegetarian menu. I verified that they actually use lard! You have to be diligent! And ask lots of questions. I also forget that most restaurants butter their rolls. I didn't put any on mine and started reacting. That's when I realized they did it when they take them out of the oven. Also, depending on how sensitive you are, remember most fried appetizers or side dishes are soaked or dredged through milk or buttermilk. Grilled chicken could be grilled on the same grill as steak and bits could stick to your chicken! Good luck! Carry an epi-pen always. Take care and keep your chin up!

I tend to stick to beverages when out. I just don’t trust people enough to avoid nuts, seeds, spices etc.

For some odd reason, I can eat Mexican food still. I have to skip the chips now. The nearby restaurant used little cheese for my fajitas. It was such a good meal!
