Why Would The Blood Test Say I Am Not Allergic To Foods That I Actually Have Allergic Reactions To?

I just received the results from my blood test for allergies and was shocked by the results. I get anaphylaxis from tomatoes and the test said I was negative for being allergic to them. Then it said that I was negative for grapes and bananas, but when I eat them, within an hour I start itching really bad all over. The test said I tested positive for milk allergy and I have never had any symptoms after consuming milk or any foods with milk in it. Why would it say I am not allergic to those foods… read more

A blood test or skin prick test help to confirm/determine allergies but the definitive test is what happens when you eat the food.

Thank you for your answer. I just found it odd that I tested negative to all the foods I do react to. I know these foods have similar proteins to latex and I know at any time I could have a reaction to a food that I have been able to eat.
