Desperaste To Cure Symptoms Of Salicylate Allergy? My Lips Are Swollen With Blisters; Red Painful Rash Around My Mouth And Nose.

I have been in agony (apart from it looking so awful) for 4 weeks now. I have been put on a strong dose of cortisone which has offered some relief but it has barely gone away. I am also trying to avoid foods containing high doses of salicylates. Can anyone offer me advice. I am desperate!

I would recommend genetic testing. If you want to jump fast forward ask your PCP to test for MTHFR mutations. Do you take daily vitamins? MTHFR people cannot take folic acid and need methylated vitamins. Somewhere there are toxins built up in your system it seems. My mother could not do any sulfites or salicylates. Tomatoes are the worst for me. I get blistered on my tongue and I just cannot do melons at all anymore. When I was little they would cause a rash of blisters on my face but I didn't correlate it until I was older.
