Does Anyone Else Suffer From Salicylate Food Allergies?

A MyFoodAllergyTeam Member asked a question 💭
Eshowe, ZA

I would like to get advice from anyone who suffers from Salicylate allergies. I am desperate with swollen lips and red rash around mouth and nose.
I am trying to eliminate salicylates from my diet but it is SO difficult as it is in so many foods!
I am on high dose of cortisone but the symptoms are still there after 4 weeks.
Any advice or useful tops to share- I would be so grateful

I found a free pdf file that lists foods in columns, based on neglible, low, moderate, high, very high levels of salicylates
(aboout link from St. Joseph's Health Care London - That page does not contain any ads, or any way to get to a site that you can pay. I only give that one link because the info could be life saving in this case. I normally, do not post links regardless.) https://www.sjhc.london.on.ca/sites/default/fil...

Buried at the bottom, the pdf does mention this "Ingredients to Avoid Within Products
Salicylate, Salicylic Acid, chemicals with the syllables SAL, CAMPH or MENTH, balsam & bisabol,
octisalate, homosalate, mexoryl, meradimate, bioflavinoids, quercetin, hesperiden or rutin (FMT,
2012)"
Best Wishes!
