What's A Common Misconception About Food Allergy?
People in general don't understand allergies. I found this really frustrating during the pandemic - being coeliac means NO wheat. I am NOT intolerant. I saw one guy take lots of gluten free stuff in a supermarket because he couldn't get the normal stuff, as he called it. Normal to me is NON gluten. Same with allergies, you have a strange reaction that unless you have allergies people don't understand why makes them react bizarrely. An allergy is NOT an intolerance, it can be life changing. Fed up of it, oh and manufacturers are worse!
“Oh, come on! You can have a LITTLE BIT!”

If I had a dime for every time I’ve heard that…
When your allergies are all gluten, dairy, and corn, people roll their eyes & say, "Surely you can eat some, as long as it's not too much. After all, even diabetics can have a little sugar, in moderation."
Agree. Unfortunately majority of people just have no concept of allergies or intolerances of any description. This hasn’t changed much in over 40 years. Many people just put it all down to “oh you are fussy “
Honestly, I didn’t know. I’m able to eat cheese and ice cream but not drink milk or eat cottage cheese. I also think I’m developing issues with yogurt. So I learned something today.
